Nepal Visa Procedure
Nepal welcomes travellers from around the world, and for most visitors the visa process is straightforward. Tourist visas are issued by the Government of Nepal and can be obtained either on arrival or in advance, depending on nationality.
The Department of Immigration facilitates Tourist Visas on Arrival for eligible travellers arriving by air through Tribhuvan International Airport, as well as at designated land border entry points.
Tourist Visa on Arrival
Most international travellers can obtain a Tourist Visa on Arrival in Nepal. The visa can be processed in one of the following ways:

Complete the online visa application prior to travel and present the confirmation on arrival

Use the electronic visa registration kiosks located in the immigration hall at Kathmandu airport

Obtain a tourist visa in advance from a Nepalese Embassy or Consulate in your country
A passport with a minimum six months’ validity is required to apply for a tourist visa.
Nationalities Requiring a Visa in Advance
Citizens of the following countries must obtain a visa prior to arrival from a Nepalese Diplomatic Mission (Embassy or Consulate). Visa on Arrival is not available for these nationalities:
Tourist Visa Fees
Tourist visa fees are payable in US dollars at the immigration counter:

15 days – USD 30

30 days – USD 50

90 days – USD 125
Visa fees are non-refundable.
Visa Extension in Nepal
Tourist visas may be extended at the Immigration Offices in Kathmandu or Pokhara, subject to approval.

Minimum extension period: 15 days – USD 45

Additional days: USD 3 per day

Overstay penalty (up to 150 days): USD 5 per day
Gratis (Free) Tourist Visa
A Gratis Tourist Visa (visa fee waived) is issued in the following cases:

Children under 10 years of age (except U.S. citizens)

SAARC nationals (except Afghanistan) visiting Nepal for the first time in a visa year – up to 30 days

Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) card holders with a valid NRN card

Chinese nationals
-
Officials from China, Brazil, Russia, and Thailand under reciprocal visa exemption agreements

Afghan citizens may receive a Gratis Visa on Arrival only with a recommendation from the Department of Immigration.
The Visa on Arrival application can be completed online prior to arrival or at immigration kiosks upon landing in Nepal.
