The Everest Kongde View Trek, also known as the Kongde Yeti Trail, is a stunning short trek in the Everest region that blends peaceful off the beaten path walking with some of the most spectacular Himalayan viewpoints you can experience in a limited time frame. This rewarding 13 day journey leads you to one of the Khumbu’s most breathtaking natural balconies, the high ridge of Kongde at 4,250 m, where Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Cho Oyu rise in a magnificent sweeping panorama.
Your adventure begins with a scenic mountain flight from Kathmandu to Lukla, followed by gentle trekking along the Dudh Koshi River through the charming Sherpa villages of Phakding, Monjo and Namche Bazaar. An acclimatization day in Namche gives you the opportunity to visit the famous Everest View Hotel and explore Sherpa museums, monasteries and cultural landmarks.
Leaving the busy Everest Base Camp trail behind, the route heads into the serene beauty of the Thame Valley, a peaceful region known for its ancient monasteries, legendary Sherpa climbers and folklore about the mythical Yeti. The ascent from Thame to Kongde unfolds gradually through rhododendron and juniper forests, high alpine terraces and dramatic cliff side paths that offer ever expanding views.
At Kongde, you will spend two unforgettable nights on a spectacular alpine plateau. A morning hike to Farak Ri at approximately 5,000 m rewards you with one of Nepal’s most extraordinary panoramas, stretching across Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu and the entire Khumbu Valley glowing beneath you.
Designed for trekkers seeking a shorter yet deeply meaningful Himalayan experience, this route offers culture, mountain solitude and luxurious viewpoints. It is ideal for those who want dramatic Everest scenery without extreme altitude challenges or crowded trails.
